A few months back Chris and I took a Crown Financial Bible Study that was offered through the church we attend. I cannot tell people enough that everyone should take this study. It is not just about getting out of debt but it is more about being able to becoming financially free in order to do God's work. It has totally changed the way I look at money and what I consider a NEED to spend it on.

Today after church, the leaders had a potluck reunion for all of those who took the course. It was good to see everyone again and to know who has stuck with the principles thus far. For me, it has been hard just with the hectic schedule and just being disciplined enough to do it. But after today and seeing the leaders and fellow students, it just drove home how important it is to stick with it. I am going to start by using a computer based program to track our spending and I am going to purchase that real soon. I figure the closer to the new year that I can start it the better.

I am going to be taking a few days off from blogging due to Chris and I going to Vegas with my parents. So I will update when I return next week

Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Logan's birthday with my mom & dad, sister & brother-in-law and my neice and nephew. It was a good time of pizza, cake & ice cream. I wanted Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on his cake but they did not have it so Chris got him a Disney Cars theme cake. It went over great with my nephew Aiden.

I was so happy Logan got into his cake. His sister at her first birthday wanted nothing to do with it. Not this kid. He dug right in.

Mommy, Daddy & Peyton got him a pop-up toy, mini Tonka cars and an outfit for his one year pictures. Grandpa & Grandma Wilcox - a savings bond; Uncle Travis, Aunt Sarah, Maddie & Aiden gave him some money to put in his penny bank. Thank you all for your gifts.

Randomness

Boy am I off to a good start. Here it is the 8th of January and I only have one post. Last night we met with our small group from church for the first time in 2-3 months. We took a bit of a breather during the Holidays. So each family could spend time with their own families and not have another obligation to fit into the schedule. It was great to see everyone and we even had two new families join. We are going to be starting the Fireproof couples bible study the next time we meet by watching the movie. I am so looking forward to this because everyone I have talked to that has seen the movie have said that it will change your life.

On a different note, my little guy is turning one tomorrow. Boy, where does the time go? We are just doing a small party for him this year and will grow the parties from there. We learned from Peyton’s first birthday that she did not like the big crowd at all. He is walking and getting into everything and more. As much as I was not looking forward to having a boy, I would not trade Logan for ANYTHING! He is everything I could have ever imagined and more. The bond I share with him is like no other.

I love looking at other people blogs. Especially other scrapbookers including Becky Higgins. I seen on her blog the idea of a picture a day for a whole year, 365 days. She, with the help of Creating Keepsakes, produced a wonderful kit to help accomplish just that. It was supposed to go on sale New Year’s Day and I was going to order me one. It wasn’t until later in the day that I remembered I wanted to ordert so I logged on and it was already sold out. Bummer. I guess there was a whole fiasco that went along with it. Needless to say is that I am brainstorming of how I want to do this, digital template or traditional layouts, and then start. I know it will not be from the beginning of the year but who says that it has to?

I am finally doing it

Yes, I have been telling everyone for a while now that I wanted to start a blog to keep family and friends updated on what is going on and just for my own self for keepsake purposes. I just thought I would just jump in here at the beginning of the year as a New Years type resolution.

A couple of months back I did the Stories in Hand by Jessica Sprague and made albums for both my mom and my sister with the intentions of doing it myself. I thought this would be a great way to do that very thing.

It is late and I am going to bed so until the next post...
